On Monday, Marvel Studios announced a forthcoming series set to take audiences deeper into the world introduced by Black Panther. As part of his new deal with Disney, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is developing a streaming series centered on the kingdom of Wakanda. "We're already in the mix on some projects that we can't wait to share,” Coogler said in a statement.
This is exciting news for fans of the original film who are eager to see how the triumphant story will continue without T'Challa after the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman last year. While there's been no confirmation on which characters will be returning for the series or its release date, Black Panther 2 is slated for release in July 2022.
Coogler, who’s currently working on the second movie of the Black Panther franchise, said his production company is “already in the mix on some projects.”
